Benjamin LUNETTA

Benjamin LUNETTA

As polyvalent musician, Benjamin Lunetta leads a career as an opera artist and teacher. As a countertenor, he has performed with renowned ensembles such as Hervé Niquet’s Le Concert Spirituel and Hugo Reyne’s La Simphonie du Marais in operas and oratorios of the baroque repertoire on national stages. He sings for Spirito, directed by Nicole Corti, whose eclectic musical output ranging from Bach to contemporary works allows him to be a soloist, chamber musician or chorister.

Passionate about teaching children and teenagers, he celebrates his twenty years of professional experience as a singing teacher in the choirs of the cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris (2000-2007), of the Bouches-du-Rhône (2008-2009), of the primatial Saint-Jean de Lyon (2012-2021) and of the cathedral of Puy-en-Velay (2019-2021). He has also taught students at the Centre de Formation des Musiciens Intervenants at the University of Aix-en-Provence. Spirito, as part of its cultural activities, has entrusted him with a number of musical and educational projects for the Berlioz Festival, the Ambronay Festival, the Résidence Musique en Isère and the prison environment in his capacity as singer, teacher or coordinator. He was regularly invited by the International Festival of Lyric Art in Aix-en-Provence to direct and stage musical performances for children.

For the past ten years, he has been collaborating with the International Willems® Federation. He has been in charge of the vocal technique of the teachers in training for the Willems® diploma in France and Spain. For seven years he also taught vocals to a number of students at the music school in Irigny, a Willems® associated school. Since 2013, when the Willems® International Choir was founded, he has been responsible for the vocality of the singers of the Willems® schools in Slovenia, Italy, Spain and France with the participation of RYMEA students.

On 1 September 2020, he has become Director of the RYMEA Willems® School of Music.
