Diana Franco Euse

Vice President Colombia

Oboist and teacher

“Live life from your dreams”. This is the philosophy of Colombian oboist Diana Franco, who has always sought to realize her musical dreams. Her love of chamber music led her to found the ARCOB Ensemble in 2009, in which she participates as solo oboist.

After learning the pedagogy of Edgar Willems, she decided to create a school model since 2006 with “La Orquesta Sinfónica de Antioquia” in the city of Medellín – Colombia – with the pedagogy of Edgar Willems. This program has benefited over 15,000 children throughout the country from disadvantaged backgrounds, with an introductory music program for children aged 3 to 5.

La Orquesta Sinfónica de Antioquia” currently runs musical training programs for children and young people aged between 6 months and 18 years, with musical stimulation, musical training, instrumental and vocal programs following the Willems® pedagogy, becoming a pioneering center for the country in the implementation of this pedagogy. The program involves over 2,000 children and is a key element in the musical development of the city of Medellín.

Since 2014, Diana Franco has been a member of the Board of Directors of the International Willems® Federation, and plays an important role in Colombia for the dissemination of this pedagogy in her country and in Latin America.
