Claire Demoures

WIF Treasurer

Born into a family of Baroque musicians, Claire Demoures studied music at the conservatoire in Le Vésinet, then Cergy-Pontoise, Goldsmith College in London and now Nanterre. After taking up the violin, she was drawn to composition and choral conducting, where she trained alongside Christine Morel, Claire Marchand and Dominique Daigremont.

After studying human sciences and business (Essec), Claire Demoures embarked on an eclectic career that focused on managing associations in the social economy sector.

She discovered Willems® pedagogy in 2017 and the richness of its proposal, and then began training for the Willems® Pedagogical Diploma in Musical Education alongside Christophe Lazerges and Béatrice Chapuis, and joined the Willems® Federation Board of Directors in 2018 as Secretary.

In 2018, she founded the non-profit school “Enchantons” in Nanterre, whose pedagogical project revolves around Edgar Willems’ proposal. Since then, she has been working alongside 5 other teachers to develop and bring to life this place of education, life and musical practice; she teaches musical initiation, musical training, instrumental beginnings on piano and violin, and directs amateur choirs.
