Childhood and early childhood course 22 > 24 October 2021 Lyon

CHILDHOOD AND EARLY CHILDHOOD :
THE VOICE AT THE SERVICE OF SENSORY DEVELOPMENT

CAUTION: CHANGE OF DATES
3-day course from 22 to 24 October 2021 in LYON

IWf and its partner SPIRITO are jointly organising a 3-day course in Lyon from 22 to 24 October 2021.
This course, initially intended for Spirito singers, is also open to musicians interested in musical interventions with children and young people, working in nurseries, schools and all educational settings.

THE OBJECTIVES

The 3 days cover 3 essential aspects of this type of intervention:

  • Auditory and rhythmic development
  • Creative singing for young children
  • Musical and polyphonic initiation

They can however be followed independently of each other.

DAY 1: Hearing and rhythmic development according to the Willemsian pedagogical proposal / Béatrice Chapuis-Westphal & Christophe Lazerges

=> To show the interest of this pedagogical proposal by making the trainees feel that it can be a wide field of personal, pedagogical and practical development with very young children.

DAY 2: Creative singing for young children: relationship between the ear and the voice – repertoire – learning / Nicole Corti, Béatrice Chapuis-Westphal & Christophe Lazerges

=> To help the trainees to remain themselves in their artistic dimension when working with very young children, by highlighting the value of texts (whose criteria for choice will be discussed), melodic structures and registers within a chosen repertoire.

DAY 3: Musical and polyphonic initiation: sensory discovery of the harmonic dimension – from invention to improvisation – the gesture of transmission / Nicole Corti & Thibaut Louppe

=> To widen for the trainees the field of the possible in this harmonic and polyphonic dimension by a concrete practice of simple harmony (canon, drone, parallelism…).

THE PROGRAMME

DAY 1: Hearing and rhythmic development according to the Willemsian pedagogical proposal / Béatrice Chapuis-Westphal & Christophe Lazerges

=> Presentation of the main lines of the Willems® Pedagogy and immediate practice with the trainees of concrete elements for the auditory and rhythmic development of very young children.

DAY 2: Creative singing for young children: relationship between the ear and the voice – repertoire – learning / Nicole Corti, Béatrice Chapuis-Westphal & Christophe Lazerges

=> Presentation of the interest and importance of the voice and singing in the life of the child and the advantage of involving professional singers whose rich, well-trained voices are major assets in triggering a love of sound in children, a vector for the expression of the intimate and the sensitive.

DAY 3: Musical and polyphonic initiation: sensory discovery of the harmonic dimension – from invention to improvisation – the gesture of transmission / Nicole Corti & Thibaut Louppe

=> As an extension of day 2, emphasis on the harmonic dimension of sound and introduction of possible polyphonic elements with very young children, if only for their impregnation.
